Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the macOS application "Bob" ("the App") provided by Stamp inc. ("the Developer"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Definitions

  1. "The App" refers to the macOS application "Bob" and all accompanying components, including plugins and skills.
  2. "User" refers to any individual or entity that uses the App.
  3. "Third-Party Services" refers to external services that the App integrates with or depends on, such as Claude Code.

3. License

  1. The Developer grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the App subject to these Terms.
  2. You shall not:
    • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
    • Redistribute, rent, or sell the App
    • Create derivative works based on modifications to the App
    • Circumvent any technical protection measures in the App

4. Fees

  1. Fees for the App are as displayed within the App or on the website.
  2. If the Developer changes the fee structure, notice will be given at least 30 days in advance via the website or the App.
  3. Specific payment terms for paid services are governed by the applicable pricing terms.

5. Third-Party Services

  1. The App uses Claude Code (provided by Anthropic, PBC) as its agent backend. Installation of Claude Code and an active account are required to use the App.
  2. You must separately agree to Anthropic's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy when using Claude Code.
  3. Data sent to Claude Code through the App (prompts, file contents, etc.) is processed in accordance with Anthropic's policies. The Developer is not responsible for how Anthropic handles such data.
  4. The App's functionality may be limited by interruptions, changes, or discontinuation of Third-Party Services. The Developer assumes no liability for such events.

6. System Permissions

  1. The App requests the following macOS system permissions:
    • Accessibility: Window detection, shake gesture detection, and window context capture
    • Screen Recording: Obtaining window information (no screenshots are captured or stored)
  2. These permissions are used solely for the purposes stated above. No information obtained through these permissions is transmitted outside the User's device, except as described in Section 5 (Third-Party Services).

7. Data Handling

  1. The App does not collect or transmit personal information to the Developer's servers.
  2. Data stored by the App's memory feature is kept exclusively on the User's local device.
  3. Data that the User sends to Claude Code through the App is processed on Anthropic's servers. See Section 5 for details.
  4. The auto-update feature (Sparkle) transmits the App's version information to GitHub Pages to check for updates.

8. Intellectual Property

  1. All copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights related to the App belong to the Developer or their rightful owners.
  2. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights in the App to the User.

9. Prohibited Activities

Users shall not:

  1. Violate any applicable laws or public order and morals
  2. Infringe on the rights of third parties, including intellectual property and privacy rights
  3. Use the App for unauthorized access, malware distribution, or other security violations
  4. Interfere with the normal operation of the App
  5. Engage in any activity prohibited under Section 3.2

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

  1. The App is provided "AS-IS." The Developer makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the App.
  2. The Developer shall not be liable for any damages arising from:
    • Interruption, modification, or termination of Third-Party Services (e.g., Claude Code)
    • Issues caused by the User's device environment
    • Loss or corruption of data resulting from use of the App
    • Force majeure events (natural disasters, power outages, communication failures, etc.)

11. Limitation of Liability

  1. If the Developer is held liable for damages, such liability shall be limited to direct and ordinary damages. Lost profits, indirect damages, special damages, and punitive damages are excluded.
  2. The Developer's total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the User for the App in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. During any free-of-charge period, this amount shall be zero.

12. Changes to These Terms

  1. The Developer may modify these Terms as necessary.
  2. Modified Terms take effect upon posting on the App's website.
  3. For material changes, the Developer will provide notice at least 30 days in advance on the website.
  4. Continued use of the App after any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

  1. Users may terminate their use at any time by uninstalling the App.
  2. The Developer may restrict or suspend a User's access without prior notice if the User materially breaches these Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
  2. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction of first instance over any disputes arising from these Terms.
